Hey everyone,

Been youtubing some stuff lately and have come across a video of Kassai Lajos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yorHswhzrU&NR=1

Very interesting stuff and some world class fast shooting skills...I get that he's using a thumb ring, but has anyone seen what kind of thumbring he uses? Also I've never seen this type of nock on an arrow before...any info that part?

Wow, that's all kinds of impressive!!!

Does anybody know the technique to learn how to shoot this fast?
He nocks the arrow so fast, how does he know he's consistently getting the same nock point?

Never seen those nocks either.
If you build it, they will come.

Cool stuff...right?

pshh...12 arrows in 17 seconds...I can do that...riiiight. .....and just imagining how a bunch of horsed archers like this attacked Russians on the Steppes...to this day it makes me wonder how they manage to withstand these kinds off attacks and not get conquered.

I was also wondering how he nocked the arrows so amazingly right on the dot. My guess would be that the nocking point has a thread wrapped seat just under it serving as sort of a stop as I've also noticed that he doesn't nock the arrow perfectly, but first gets it on the string and then slides it down till the nocking point(thread wrap stop) is reached, draws the bow and releases it...all in one flawless motion...truly impressive.

I'm wondering if you can buy these nocks somewhere...or they have to be custom made...either way they look much better suited for the job than the ones used today. Haven't found any being sold online, so that pink silicone and fiberglass resin might come in handy after all. 8-)

after watching this vid I'm beginning to doubt my first theory...and beginning to think that it's something the the way he holds the arrows and how he positions his hand/fingers on the string when nocking the arrow...his fingers are wrapped in something...are these rings or bandages(sort of like in boxing)?

this synthetic stuff is too easy I will probably have a box of fiberglass reinforced plastic nocks by the end of the day...Wondering how would one go at making a "self nock" like this??? A challenge :P
